Biruk Kebede Metaferia, Zsófia Garai-Takács and Judit Futó have published a paper in Frontiers in Psychology
They found that preschoolers with parents acknowledging the significance of play for the overall development of children tend to have better inhibitory control skills. Interestingly, the frequency with which children have breakfast at home was another important predictor. When examining children’s visual–spatial working memory capacities participation in arts and crafts activities was found to be related.
