To mark the occasion, the professor will give an English-language lecture at the ELTE Faculty of Education and Psychology (PPK). The lecture, opened by habil. associate professor Helga Dorner, is titled “(How) Should we be preparing our students for their graduate futures?”

Lynn McAlpine has been working on formal and experience-based workplace learning for over 30 years. A recognised pioneer in the field, her research and development work has brought international recognition to her field, drawing attention to the impact of experience-based learning on university students, lecturers, and managers, as well as on employees outside academia. Over the past 15 years, her efforts have been focused on understanding and supporting doctoral and postdoctoral career paths within and without academia. Her research findings help to interpret the significance of these decisions in the context of workplace (learning) and how they contribute to the individual’s work performance within the organisation. Her international research findings are integrated into higher education policies and strategies by policy makers, university leaders, and university lecturers worldwide.
