The project aims to design and implement a complex teacher professional development programme providing preparation (formal and non-formal training) and continuous support (mentoring) for teachers and trainers working in vocational education and training (VET) schools to apply Japanese Lesson Study (LS) as a method of collaborative teacher professional development and education quality improvement in their own schools. The project builds on multi-directional collaboration of higher education institution (HEI) partners (teacher educators) and VET schools as well as an e-learning adult training provider institution from four countries (Hungary, Austria, Malta & the Netherlands). All the HEI partners have extensive expertise and experience in training teachers to apply the method of LS, the Hungarian and Austrian partners in general education, the Maltese and Dutch also in VET, who will share their experiences to support the innovation transfer across countries and sectors of education.
