Psychology and Education are still leading in the ARWU ranking
ELTE PPK retained its 201-300 place in the field of psychology. In the field of educational science, ELTE PPK was able to improve on last year's results, so it is ranked 201-300. In both fields, it is still the only Hungarian university in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).

The academic rankings of the Academic Rankings of World Universities (ARWU) for 2023 have been published, in which the organization examined the world's 5,000 higher education institutions in five broad scientific fields (non-living natural sciences, engineering sciences, life sciences, medicine and social sciences), including 55 narrower fields. This year's list includes a total of 1,900 universities from 104 countries.

This year, Eötvös Loránd University is listed in a total of 8 out of the 55 specialized fields. In six of these (physics, biology, psychology, educational science, political science, communication) it is the best training place in Hungary. ELTE is the only Hungarian player in the ranking in the fields of psychology, educational science, political science and communication.

Among ELTE's ranked specializations, psychology and education are also ranked 201-300. The field of educational science was included in the ARWU ranking for the first time in 2022, and ELTE PPK was the only Hungarian institution to be ranked 401-500 in the field of educational science. This year's result (ranking 201-300) therefore represents a significant improvement in the prestigious list.
