Research Group for Pedagogical Innovations and Social Opportunities
The Research Group aims to examine the interrelations between education and society through inter- and multidisciplinary approaches, with particular attention to children, young people, as well as school-level and systemic processes. Our mission is to support learners’ development, creativity, and well-being, as well as to reduce social and educational inequalities. Our research focuses on identifying and evaluating pedagogical innovations that contribute to competence development, student well-being, improved educational outcomes, and the promotion of equity.
On the one hand, we study issues of educational effectiveness, dropout, resilience, inclusion, and fairness, with special emphasis on the school trajectories and opportunities of marginalised groups. On the other hand, we explore the potential of digital technologies in learning, skills development, and technology-based assessment. We also analyse the pedagogical significance of social competences and attachments, as well as school climate and community relations. In a broader social perspective, our research addresses the prevalence and social patterns of risk behaviors and addictions, along with their related educational challenges. Our methodological approach is diverse: we apply quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods, and we also build professional workshops to foster methodological innovation.
