People-environment transaction study of built historic environments

My research focuses on exploring perceptions, attitudes, and meanings related to historic built environments. We explore the role of heritage sites in identity and memory processes from a person–environment transaction perspective Our aim is to complement professional values in heritage conservation and renovation processes with the conscious inclusion of values experienced in everyday life. This involves promoting participatory planning in heritage restoration and awareness raising about heritage protection. We study the restorative (attention-restoration and stress-reduction) effects of historic buildings, sites and cities.
