My research focuses on the autism spectrum disorder, especially the examination of the differences and correlations of cognitive abilities. Explanatory theories based on cognitive differences have long played a leading role in research on the background of autism. Although there is a much greater focus in the explanatory levels today on the neurological and genetic differences, the cognitive level continues to play a kind of mediating role in understanding the relationship to behavioral symptoms. In addition to understanding the mechanisms underlying autism, learning about differences in cognitive function can provide important insights into development.
